A wedding at Dreams Tulum Resort & Spa brings together so many of the things couples imagine when planning a destination wedding in Mexico: tropical gardens, Caribbean views, beautiful architecture, and the opportunity to celebrate with family and friends in one incredible setting.
This Dreams Tulum wedding gave us a little bit of everything. The day began with relaxed getting-ready moments before moving outside for a beautiful beachfront ceremony. Afterward, we explored the resort for portraits before everyone came together again for an intimate evening reception.
From the quiet moments at the beginning of the day to the laughter and celebrations after dark, this was exactly the kind of wedding story we love to photograph.
Getting Ready at Dreams Tulum Resort & Spa
The getting-ready portion of a wedding day is often where some of the most personal photographs happen.
We started with the bride as she finished her hair and makeup, capturing the little details and interactions happening around her. Her wedding dress, jewelry, shoes, and final preparations all became part of the story.
One of our favorite things about this part of the day was the variety of photographs we were able to create. There are beautiful close-ups of the bride getting ready, emotional moments with family and friends, and quieter portraits as everything started to come together.
On the groom's side, we played with the available window light, reflections, and mirrors. The black-and-white photograph of the groom reflected in the round mirror is a great example of how even a simple hotel room can become part of a creative wedding portrait.
These photographs are about more than documenting how everyone looked. They capture the anticipation before the ceremony and all the small moments that can easily be forgotten once the wedding day gets moving.
A Beautiful Beach Ceremony at Dreams Tulum
The ceremony brought everyone outside with the Caribbean Sea creating a spectacular backdrop.
A floral wedding arch stood at the edge of the beach while family and friends gathered around the couple. The combination of the blue Caribbean, palm trees, flowers, and bright tropical light immediately gives these photographs the feeling of a true Riviera Maya destination wedding.
We photographed the entire ceremony from both wide and intimate perspectives.
The wide photographs show the complete Dreams Tulum setting, while the closer images capture the expressions, laughter, exchange of rings, and emotional reactions from the couple and their guests.
One of our favorite moments is the newlyweds sharing their first kiss beneath the floral arch with the Caribbean behind them. Moments later, they were walking back down the aisle together as husband and wife.
It is exactly the kind of setting many couples picture when they start dreaming about getting married in Mexico.
Wedding Portraits Around Dreams Tulum
After the ceremony, we had time to explore different areas around Dreams Tulum Resort & Spa with the newlyweds.
This is where the resort really gave us an opportunity to create a wedding gallery with completely different looks.
Some photographs place the couple among lush tropical greenery and palm trees. Others use the resort's bright architecture, staircases, balconies, and clean white backgrounds to create a more elegant feel.
The photographs of the bride and groom walking together through the gardens are some of our favorites from the day. Instead of constantly posing the couple, we like giving them opportunities to move, talk, laugh, and simply enjoy a little time together away from everyone else.
Those in-between moments often produce photographs that feel the most natural.
We also created some more dramatic portraits as the light changed. The photographs beneath the trees have a completely different mood from the bright Caribbean ceremony earlier in the day, while the portraits around the white resort architecture add another look to the collection.
That variety is an important part of telling the complete story of a Dreams Tulum wedding.
Celebrating Into the Evening
Once the sun went down, the atmosphere changed again as everyone moved into the reception.
The warm lighting, candles, flowers, wedding cake, and reception details created a more intimate look for the evening photographs.
But the people are always what make a reception memorable.
We photographed the speeches and all the reactions happening around the room, including plenty of laughter from family and friends. There were wonderful candid moments happening everywhere, from conversations around the tables to the couple cutting their wedding cake together.
These are often the photographs that become more important as the years go by.
Beautiful portraits will always have their place in a wedding album, but photographs of a parent laughing during a speech, friends celebrating together, or the newlyweds sharing an unexpected moment can instantly bring back what the wedding actually felt like.

One of the things we enjoy most about photographing weddings at Dreams Tulum is how much visual variety we can create throughout a single wedding day.
The getting-ready photographs feel intimate and personal. The beach ceremony opens everything up with the Caribbean Sea and tropical scenery. The gardens provide lush green backgrounds for portraits, while the architecture around the resort gives us completely different opportunities just a few minutes away.
By the time the reception begins, the warm evening light and atmosphere create another completely different chapter of the wedding.
Our goal is always to use those surroundings without allowing the location to overpower the people.
A destination wedding should show where you chose to get married, but years from now the most important part of the photographs will still be the people, relationships, expressions, and moments that made the day yours.
